Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Man with Van Chessington is committed to conducting all aspects of its operations in an ethical, responsible, and transparent manner. We recognise that modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation are serious global issues that can affect any sector or supply chain. This statement sets out the steps we take, and will continue to take, to prevent modern slavery within our own operations and those of our suppliers and business partners.
This statement applies to all staff, contractors, agency workers, and any third parties acting on behalf of Man with Van Chessington.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
We operate a clear and unequivocal zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. We will not knowingly engage with any individual, organisation, or supplier that participates in, facilitates, or turns a blind eye to any form of forced, bonded, or compulsory labour, child labour, or human trafficking.
All workers must be engaged on a voluntary basis, paid fairly in line with applicable laws, and treated with dignity and respect. Any breach or suspected breach of this policy is regarded as a serious matter that may result in termination of employment or contract and, where appropriate, reporting to the relevant authorities.
Our Operations and Supply Chain
Man with Van Chessington provides removals and transportation services. Our main risks lie within our wider supply chain, including subcontracted drivers, vehicle and equipment suppliers, and providers of ancillary services. We are committed to understanding these risks and implementing proportionate controls to prevent exploitation.
We aim to work with suppliers and partners that share our values and demonstrate a commitment to ethical labour practices. We expect all parties in our supply chain to uphold standards consistent with our own.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We are implementing a structured approach to supplier due diligence. Before entering into or renewing a commercial relationship, we will seek to assess the supplier’s approach to labour standards, including their own policies, training, and risk management procedures relating to modern slavery.
Where appropriate, we will conduct periodic audits or request evidence of compliance from suppliers, such as statements of conformity with modern slavery legislation, details of workforce recruitment practices, and information on subcontracting arrangements. Any supplier found to be in breach of our standards will be required to implement corrective actions within a defined timescale or face suspension or termination of the relationship.
Training and Awareness
We are committed to raising awareness among our staff and key contractors about the signs of modern slavery and how to respond to concerns. Induction and periodic briefings will explain our zero-tolerance stance, outline the risks relevant to our sector, and make clear everyone’s responsibility to speak up if they suspect exploitation.
Line managers and those involved in procurement or supplier management will receive enhanced guidance to help them identify and escalate potential risks within the supply chain.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
We encourage anyone working for or with Man with Van Chessington to report, without delay, any suspicion or evidence of modern slavery or human trafficking. Reports may relate to our own operations, our suppliers, or any third party connected to our business.
Concerns can be raised with a supervisor, manager, or a designated senior member of management. All concerns will be treated seriously, handled sensitively, and investigated promptly. We are committed to ensuring that no one suffers any form of retaliation or disadvantage for raising a concern in good faith, even if it is not subsequently substantiated.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that preventing modern slavery is an ongoing process that requires vigilance, collaboration, and continual improvement. We will review this statement and our supporting procedures at least once every year, or sooner if there are significant changes to our business, legislation, or identified risks.
The annual review will consider the effectiveness of our actions, feedback from staff and suppliers, and any incidents or concerns raised. Where necessary, we will update our policies, training, and due diligence processes to strengthen our controls and further reduce the risk of modern slavery.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Chessington, who take overall responsibility for its implementation and oversight.
